Bear Data acquired by Datalink

Bear Data Solutions was a San Francisco-based company founded in 2004, specializing in the sales of networking products, particularly Cisco wireless, routing, and core switches. With offices in San Francisco, San Jose, Irvine, and San Diego, Bear Data primarily served customers in California. In 2013, the company reported revenues of approximately $130 million and employed around 80 people.

In 2014, Bear Data was acquired by Datalink Corporation for $18.5 million. This acquisition significantly expanded Datalink’s presence on the West Coast, increasing its regional revenue to over $200 million and adding about 1,000 new midmarket and enterprise customers. The integration allowed Bear Data’s customers to access a wider range of services and technical support, enhancing the overall value for both existing and new clients. Bear Data’s leadership and most employees continued with Datalink, ensuring a smooth transition and leveraging combined expertise.
